  8. Forms of cooperation Visionary Leadership: Followers agree voluntarily to be dominated by the leader.
  9. People are not forced to be leaders
  10. True followers cannot be forced to follow the leader
  11. When attachment is high, there are no more leaders or followers
  12. If there is an element of coercion, such as power, economic necessity, or agreement based on a contract, this is a relationship between superior vs subordinate, manager vs employee, employer vs servant, employer vs slave.
  13. Encouraging / motivating is the essence of leadership / followers.
  14. Coercive behavior is an element outside of leadership
  15. Manage yourself, much more difficult than controlling the behavior of others
  16. Visionary Leadership Vs Tyrannical Management
  17. Wrong view of management: he thinks this is a position to be in charge, by selecting workers, motivating, training them, ordering and controlling them.

LEADERSHIP AND PRODUCTIVITY

1. Leadership: A process where the Leader can encourage / influence other members, to achieve the targets that need to be achieved according to the Leader. This target is certainly important for the company and pride for team members when achieved.

2. How does the leader have the power to influence his team members?

  • Legitimacy (Organizational Structure), where the person concerned has authority from the company
  • Expertise (Because of Expertise)
  • Referent (Natural respect from team members to Leader/informal leader)
  • Reward Power (Leader can give praise / appreciation) at the right time to subordinates and dare to fight for it to a higher superior.
  • Coersive Power (Leader can give appropriate punishment when a team member violates).
3. Which of the 5 factors above is the most successful in influencing team members? From the research, it turns out that number 2b and number 2c!! the most successful. In addition to better team performance, employee job satisfaction is also better, low absenteeism from employees who ask to quit is also low.

4. Employee Maturity Level
(Maturity Of Employees)
  • H1 (Low Maturity): Kindergarten has no desire and does not know how to do their job.
  • H2 (Low To Moderate Maturity): Kindergarten doesn't know how to do her job, but she has a desire.
  • H3 (Moderate to high Maturity): Kindergarten knows how to do the task but doesn't want to do it.
  • H4 (High Maturity): Kindergarten knows how to do their job, with a high desire to complete it.
LEADER ROLE MODEL

Important !!! Subordinates imitate what the boss does, not what the boss says.
  • Want your subordinates to work hard? Give an example (you have to work hard)
  • Want subordinates on time? Give an example (Never be late)
  • Want your subordinates to enjoy a challenge? (Show your "adrenaline" out, when there's a challenge).
IDEAL LEADER

Influence of good Leader Vision and Mission, Partnership Inspiration
1. What is Vision?

Vision is the ideal scenario for the future of the organization, which encourages employees to work hard for a bright future.

2. What if someone as a leader is good, but as a manager is bad? Of course he will fail.

3. Partnership A leader considers subordinates as work partners / partners.
How do you make the partnership work?
Dissemination of the vision after receiving input from employees
Team members have the right to disagree with the leader and their respective roles in the team must be respected.
  • Leaders and Team members are all fully responsible for the results achieved as well as for failures.
  • Leaders and Team members must be honest with each other.
  • Lying is a breach of agreement that could result in Team failure.
  • Disagreements/conflicts within the Team are common.
4. Inspiration
The highest element for a successful leader is through inspiration.
Example:
Person A, who used to work mediocrely, after being under the new leader, has changed completely, becoming a tough worker with bright ideas.

5. Persuasion
Persuasion or persuasion is an important aspect of leadership. Leaders must be able to change the way their subordinates think, but if forced, must be able to act decisively.

Careful!!! Leaders who are too busy with routines (daily managerial tasks) tend to subconsciously forget their function as leaders.

6. Influence

Influence is almost the same as leadership, because both are processes of influencing others to achieve certain goals.

Leaders are involved in:
Recruit the right employees according to company needs.
Improving the quality standard of work, if there are products or services produced that are too low in quality.
Improving corporate ethics in dealing with stakeholders

7. Important to remember!!!

In reality on the ground there are leaders instead of influencing employees to do positive things for the progress of the company, but on the contrary influencing employees to act negatively and unethically, which in the long run can bankrupt the company.

8. Motivation

Motivation is an integral part of leadership. Leaders succeed in motivating their subordinates, if they are willing to work harder than before

9. Leader VS Manager
Example :
  • Is there any damage that needs to be repaired?
  • Is there anything that can be improved?
  • Is it perfect in dealing with this problem?
  • What needs to be changed, in order to win in the competition?
  • Can the company's reputation be improved?
  • What changes must be made, so that our company's status is special (PT. Pamapersada Nusantara status from world class to world leader).
10. Build self-confidence & emotional intelligence (for self-efficiency/independent)
  • Confidence is an important element for leadership (a leader is seen when overcoming a crisis situation).
  • Don't: over confidence.
  • Positive thinking.
  • Take advantage of your potential (you should emphasize aspects of character/behavior, not property/investment).
  • Awaken your strength:
  • Firm and agile in action.
  • Confidence can change the behavior and thoughts of others.
  • Power is used as a valuable commodity
  • Want to be famous, powerful, etc
  • Achieve the first win (start with easy/small wins, increase to heavy ones).
  • Rise from adversity (every successful person has been down/failed/humiliated).
  • Develop emotional intelligence for more self-confidence (deal with one's own emotions and those of others)
11. Over confidence (too confident):
  • Don't want to admit mistakes.
  • Don't want to hear criticism.
  • Do not want to ask for input / advice.

12. How to deal with the emotional turmoil of being down?
  • Accept reality (no need to find a scapegoat).
  • Don't take it to heart (adversity must have happened).
  • Don't panic (keep calm, no matter how heavy the problem is).
  • Ask for emotional help from trusted people (family, close friends, etc.).
13. Creative solutions to problems / adversity
  • Diagnose and clarify the problem.
  • Looking for creative alternatives, are there other options?
  • Make a decision
  • Develop a work plan and implement it. The steps that must be taken to get out of adversity.
  • Evaluate the results. If that doesn't work, look for a new alternative. After you manage to overcome heavy problems, your self-confidence will be higher.

A leader creates a vision for others, and then encourages them to achieve that vision.

In order to successfully achieve the Vision, your subordinates must believe in you and be willing to communicate and support you in achieving your goals.
Why do people fight to become Leaders?

In addition to getting a bigger income, they also get power and prestige.
Leaders that people admire.
Leaders have the power to help others, this is a pleasure for those concerned.
Successful leaders have pride, that they are needed by the company

What is the difference between a Leader and a Manager?

Manager : Planning, Organizing, Directing, and Control. There is more time for Planning, organizing and Control tasks, so more emphasis is placed on stability (maintenance of balance).
Make sure people are paid according to their contribution.
More formal and scientific style (PODC and IT).
Everything must be with a clear set of tools and techniques.
Avoid close emotional relationships, reduce conservative actions to achieve goals (emotional relationships can be trivial).
If there is a problem, always follow the SOP or established methods.
Use a set of skills to achieve the existing vision.

Leaders:

To achieve the existing Vision, constantly create changes, inspire others to work hard and increase company profits.
Achieving goals by relying on team work / network of many people.

How does a leader communicate?

Use a good style of language and have a strong impact (but don't overdo it and be repetitive).

Use Analogies and Metaphors to amaze.

Analogy: Our company was originally the same as the giant company x.

Metaphor: our company is young and small, but has to compete with very well-established giant companies.
Inspire with stories (anecdotes / stories that are easy to remember, but have a message).
Does your non-verbal language reflect leadership? (delivery of messages without using words, for example: body language, tone of voice, appearance, and others).
Align your non-verbal style with your verbal. (I am sorry for the death of your parents…, with a sad expression on your face, while listening to the person's story until the end).

Look at the eyes, stand straight, keep a distance (how many cm), from the view of the attention of the hands, change of voice (strong and consistent tone).

Appreciate the time.
Confident, friendly and sociable.

Appropriate language style (which gives the Leader power and authority).

Maintain credibility (Leader who likes to lie, difficult to convince / trust subordinates; although intelligence and broad knowledge also greatly strengthens credibility).

HOW TO INCREASE CREDIBILITY

Must act credible in a world full of uncertainty (your integrity is convincing and trustworthy).

As a leader, you must act ethically.

Obey K3LH.

  • Friendly, respectful, honest and fair.
  • Always on time and never late for work.
  • Do not use offensive words.
  • Don't bribe and be bribed
  • Keeping company secret

  • Decision making for personal interest
  • Provide services / products that are higher than reasonable
  • Making decisions in the Gray Area. For example: to save costs, all employees who work at the very cold Freeport site simply wear the PAMA standard uniform. How is it seen from intuition and common sense?

What are the views of the community with PAMA, if this is disseminated in the mass media?

Implement words (consistent between words and deeds)

For example: Don't be afraid, this merger does not result in Termination of Employment – it turns out that Termination of Employment occurs. In the long term, TK who trust their leader will be more satisfied with their work and with better performance.

Outward and inner actions that make people believe.

  • Behavioral indicators that arise from genes, are very difficult to overcome / modify !!!
  • Smiling often (sincerely) >< constantly smiling (what's up???)
  • Smiling or frowning >< exaggerated facial expressions
  • There is eye contact without glaring
  • Dress/shave well
  • Relax and calm in front of others
  • Friendly gaze
  • Natural wink >< transgender wink
  • Always wiping the nose, as if restless / there is dishonesty
  • Indoor dark glasses
  • Build Network
Thus a description of leadership, may be useful. Thanks.
