Scope of Development of Fashion

Based on the elaboration of the above definitions, the scope of the substance of the fashion subsector can be divided by the type of process and its volume, the type of product, the functioning of the product, as well as the market segment.

Substantially, fashion can be divided by type of process, be it industrial, traditional, made to order or ready to wear.

Products made based on industrial and traditional processes are usually textiles, fragrances, and cosmetics.

3. Made to order. Is a type of process of making special fashion products to order, from individuals or groups, or in other words done for private clients, whose product results can be divided by volume, including:

a. Tailor Made is a fashion product that in the manufacturing process begins with special measurements and finishes based on orders per individual.

c. Uniform or uniform, which is a similar fashion product that is made in large quantities and functions as a uniform of a certain company or group.

4. Ready to wear, also called ready-to-wear, which is the process of making fashion products that are made based on standard / general sizes and the results are marketed as ready-to-use products. This ready-to-wear product has market purpose specifications related to style, taste and economy class and is the most consumed product by the general public. Ready to wear products can be grouped by volume as follows.

a. Deluxe or luxury, that is, the design of designers who are "designer labels", with a limited quantity of production made.

Mass products are of two types:

i. Second label, is the creation of designers;

ii. Private label, is the creation of the garment industry.

The naming of made to order and ready to wear is usually only for clothing, accessories, and footwear products.
